Weird....i installed IE 6.0 the other day...
and now when i go to www.msn.com (http://www.msn.com) ....it shows up in my browser as ninemsn.com.au/homepage.asp
did msn change their webpage or is this a coincidence? Ive even pinged www.msn.com (http://www.msn.com) to try their ip address in http...and it shows up with the ninemsn.com.au/homepage.asp
This happening to others? Let me know.
Thanks

I'm not using 6.0, but I still end up at http://www.msn.com/ when I click your link.
Where did you download IE6 from?

I downloaded it from microsoft's corporate website.
I just finished searching my registry for "ninemsn" and i also looked in my lmhosts file, and nothing related to ninemsn was found in either one. I deleted my cookies, and emptied the temp internet downloaded files & history then went back to msns website and the same thing is happening. Anyone know where else i should look on my computer to see if dns is getting overridden? homepage is yahoo, and thats fine...so is all other sites.

Figured it out....
Went to tools->internet options->languages
There was "english (au)" listed. I removed that entry, and MSN's site now loads correctly. IE 6.0 must have changed that setting, because I have never touched that area of IE.
I Hope this acts as a heads-up for anyone else installing IE 6.0.
My guess is that all of the US servers were busy when i downloaded it, so it must have downloaded it from an austrailian mirror site. Who knows. Microsoft sucks http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
