GTA III and Vice City are pretty much the same graphics-wise. GTA III looked a lot better for me on my PC than Vice City did on my TV for PS2. Nothing ever looks as good on a console as it does on a higher end PC monitor. Why? PC monitor is capable of MUCH higher resolutions than a TV screen. TV screen might be bigger but the resolution is locked in. You can get further away from the screen to make it look better but then you might as well just be playing on a PC monitor. Maybe if you have an HDTV it looks better but I don't know what the specs are of consoles today and whether or not they do high definition if connected to an HDTV. PC is the way for me man. Bob The Great 01-08-2004, 10:26 PM They used the same graphics engine for both GTA3 and GTA VC but they really tweaked the graphics for VC! The models have much more detail and it actually runs better then GTA3! As for PC vs Console, its no comparision. The PC version not only looks a LOT better but is a lot more playable because of the addition of the mouse and keyboard, plus with a good pc load times are pretty much nonexistant. scottluebke2003 01-09-2004, 12:49 AM I played Vice City on the PS2 and it looked OK for a console game. It was very hard to see in the distance, reading signs and such was near impossible. I now own it for PC and I was amazed right away. The max FPS for VC is limited to 30, so I turned the rez up and AA and AF. The game is beautiful, everything is sharp and clear, you can see as far as the game possibly allows. I'd say it looks 10x better than its PS2 equivalent. ATI RADEON 8500 01-09-2004, 01:18 AM Thank you for those informations. I was bout to ask those myself. I played my friend's Vice city and loved it but dislike the PS2 graphic of it. Was wondering about the PC verison. dumbanddumber54 01-09-2004, 08:02 PM It also depends on your video card, because if you have like a 32 MB (not sure if the game will even run on that) or a low 64 MB, it might not be too much of a change. My friend has it, and from what I can tell it's not that much better. Later -TSL :t SysOpt.com
