Hey, my mobo can only support up to 250 MHz of CPU speed, and I have found a possible source for a 700MHz AMD Duron for around $25 dollars (no shipping!), but I need a new motherboard to support it. I know that Bob the Great is happy with his mobo, but does anyone else have any suggestions? If I can hold out with my 1 MB Trident Vid card until I get a new mobo/cpu, then I can get a GeForce2 64Mb card. Right now, with my system, a card like that would be faster than my CPU (as Bob the Great kindly pointed out), so I have to get everything else, first.
Right now, this is my system:
32 MB pc100 Dimm SDRAM
52X Delta CD-ROM drive
2.1GB Seagate Hard Drive
Cyrix MII 333MHz CPU set @ 250 MHz
TX Pro II Socket 7 SIS motherboard
Trident 1MB vid card
Gamesurround Muse XL soundcard (great card!)
Pony 15" moniter
As you can see, I am TOTALLY outdated!!! ;~D
