Mouse problems

Hey my friend has a problem with BF1942. Whenever he loads it up his mouse locks up. He has XP and it worked before but now it doesn't. He even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Any and all replies with be heplful.

is it an optic or ball mouse?

Get latest drivers for mouse.
Stop any unnessesary programs running, including Anti Virus Program!!!
See if there's any patches for game.
Check for Virus, Adware an Spyware.
Check Device Manager for conflicks.

Its a ball mouse and I have the same antivirus programs as he does but I don't have XP. Will shuting down the anti-virus really make any effect???

you shouldn’t need any drivers for your mouse any OS is going to support a ball mouse, have you tried cleaning the tracks inside the mouse and rubbing the ball with some alcohol?

Allso I would try a scandisk and defrag BF1942 will need that done on your HDD more times than you think. Allso try a cold boot, turn of your PC remove it from any power outlet and power it back up.

One more thing, when the mouse stops working in the game have you noticed if its only the mouse, does keyboard?


are you sure you have all the updates for BF1942 but I highly doupt thats the problem.

But his mouse works on the desktop and all the other games that he has, it's really bizarre?!?!?!?!?:x :confused:

did you try a diffrent mouse?

what specs are on this system? memory OS etc.
