Creating Folders and Permissions

I am looking for a way to create a long list of folders with many folders in a tree. I need to be able to set the permissions on all of these folders while I am doing this. ( Don't want to have to go back and set permissions for all of these folders )

Is there a way to automate all of this in a script or in a program? I am working in a Windows 2000 Domain with Active Dir.

Any info would be a great help!
