Hi

I have a system with Windows 2000 Professional, IE 6, Windows Media Player, and Real One player installed. Everytime I click on a link in a web page that contains an audio or video link, WMP or Real 1 launches, but cannot find the file to play, and returns an error message. When I look into my temporary internet files folder, the media file isn't downloaded to the directory where WMP or Real 1 was looking for it.

This condition just started about a week ago. I have not changed any settings in IE 6 or installed/uninstalled anything in Windows. I have also checked my IE settings, and they look fine. This problem is now also extending to a Sun Java plugin that my wife needs to take a college class online. The Java pluging fails with the same error mentioned above, because it can't find the file to run either.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.

Let's just say that I'm not a big fan of RealOne. I would remove it. Find an older version of Real Player and use that.
