Hi Folks,
I m kinda Newbie to OCing,
I want to buy a new M/B, CPU and RAM. My intention is to O/C to get more performance from the new comps. I read few articles about Boards and the possible settings to use to OC.
My target sys is:
P4 2.4 (800 FSB HT) CPU ; is it true that u can push it to 3.2GHz
MotherBoard.... need recommendation as I will be going for 3.2 CPU in about 6-8 months.
RAM.......also need recommendation on this. 2X512 Kingston PC 3400 is recommended on some sites
G/C : I already have ATI Radeon 9500 Pro.
HD: I have IBM 120GB 7200 rpm. I am thinking about going for 2 SATA drives.
Cooling: I need recommendation on this also
My work is mainly 3D Modelling and Rendering
Any help will be appreciated
Happy Newyear 2004

Bertz,
Which Asus board did you get...... P4C800-E Delux of P4P800 Delux.
Can you list all the comps in you sys Please?
I am in favour of Kingston memory, 2X512 Kingston PC 3400. But I am not sure how it would perform compared to yours.
TIA

OK, I ve been away for a wile,
I got this sys
P4 2.4C
Abit IC7-G
2*512 Corsair XM Pro PC4000
WD Raptor SATA
Thermal right SP-94 heatsink + a Delt fan(110 CFM)
Connect 3D 9500 Pro
As I stated in my first post I m kind a new to this OCing stuff,
I need help on how to start OCing the P4. I changed the FSB from 200 to 210 in the bios and I think I got about 2.6 speed. The sys run smooth. But I am sure there are other areas to gain even more speed i.e. Increasing the voltage for the CPU, changing some params for the DDR and Graphics card.
Need a lot of help Please.

:D
OK, keep bumping the FSB, watch your temps, and when it starts crashing with the benchmarks bump the voltage a little at a time. WATCH your temps! you should be able to bump up to 1.75 on the core, but do it a little at a time. you will find the max FSB and voltage by doing it slowly.
