What do you think 5 modems weigh, I have one here in a Retail box and I'd say not over 8 ounces.

Multiply that times 5 modems and you got what,, 3 or 4 ponuds MAX ? With packing materials of course.

This is what I've done for a living for over 25 years, so I know Procurement & Shipping procedure.

Check out MA Micro's tally page for me->>

"Total Purchases 35.00
Shipping 45.00
Tax 0.00
Total for MA MICRO INC 80.00 "

$45.00 to ship 4 pounds "Ground" http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

What a rip, a trip to resellerratings is due..

So, did you get any reply back?

Doc, I can't believe your laying down for this. You write them back, better yet call.
Tell them you want a partial refund on your shipping. Call your credit card company and tell them you were charged erroneously, and you want to put a hold on the payment. Find out from Mailboxes, Etc., what the shipping charge would be for that weight and distance.
(use their zip and yours) I say Mailboxes, etc., because they have an astronomical service rate built into their prices, that would be more than fair. All companies now have UPS software that builds in their "commission" on the UPS Charge. Packaging? Give them . 50 for the peanuts, and 3 bucks for the box. Period!
Signed ,.,,

Good thing you didn't order something like a case or a power supply - probably woulda cost a couple hundred bucks to ship!!

Fear not my Lassie, I cancelled the order PRIOR TO Submission http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

This thread is just a note to illustrate how some low-life on-line merchants will take advangage of those who don't read carefully.

Some even go as far as telling you "Go ahead and submit your order, we'll e-mail you the shipping costs " WHAT NERVE

i4digital.com is one who tries to pull that one. I e-mailed www.mysimon.com (http://www.mysimon.com) about them. There are several "Sister" companies who use the number "4" in their name prefix who pull the same ****.

When you are "Attacked" like this, RESPOND, DO NOT LET IT GO !!

thanks all

IN fairness to MA Micro, here's their reply->>

" Hello,
First of all yahoo's shipping machnism does not allow us to modify shipping
cost for multiple shipment . It's only design for 1-2 items, I don't know
what you intend to purchase but one thing I can say is if you complain to
us about this matter before you go on broadcasting, you'll know we are a
fair company. Otherwise i don't see why we have return customers ? Right.
Thanks,

Mary
MA MicroInc "

I think I'll e-mail them and check and see what take they have on the shipping matter.

From Mary's tone, do ya think I ruffled some feathers http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ?

It's not the consumers fault that they and Yahoo Shopping cannot fix the shipping calculator, MY take on the matter is fix it or SUFFER the loss of business.

Easy fix! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

The smart, business savvy, customer friendly companies use this one! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

"For shipping costs, please call our FREE 1-800 number, thank you!"

Works every time!

Yeah Sharder it may be fine for some, but lots of my purchases are made after regular hours, if I have to make a phone call, I go elsewhere.

**Update**

Since Mary suggested that Yahoo was at fault for the shipping cost error, I bypassed Yahoo and went directly to MA Micro's site.
This time I had yet another request for a Modem so the quantity went up to SIX.

The shipping for SIX modems

->> $50.00<<--

Another E-Mail to MA Micro->>

" Hi again Mary
I avoided the yahoo link and went directly to your site.
Same thing different day, please look->>

Motorola PCI 56k/V.90 Winmodem W/Fax. Includes Software!
7.00 Qty 6
42.00
Total Purchases 42.00
Shipping 50.00
Tax 0.00
Total for MA MICRO INC 92.00

Modem link->>
http://www.mamicro.com/pci56winvoic.html

$50.00 shipping on 6 Modems, shurely something is wrong with the shipping calculator.

Please advise and thanks for your time

I HAD to call MA Micro to place an order and get shipping charges corrected.

On 7 modems, the s&h was $15.00, more better.

If they would fix the shipping calculator they would get more business for sure.

OR, is it by design to make huge profit on those who don't read carefully ???
