do you really need to have the system tray load at startup or at all??

it's been over a year now that i don't use it or have it load.

I'm running win98se, and I open "msconfig" for selective start up, to have the least things loading at startup

I raely trun my machines off but I do have to reboot now and then, a friend told me that it's a bad thing not to have systray load,

I have in my startup
NAV and it's componets
zonealarm nand its componets
load power profile
SHPC32 ( for my printer )
scan registry

whoa!!!!!!!!! some jpg of system tray
I have the zone alarm icon and norton icon and turtle beach santa cruz icon in the system tray area, the system tray itself isn't loading, if I hit ctrl+alt+del it's not there and when I run MSCONFIG I have it unchecked,

yes I'm living proof you don't need it, but is it a bad thing?? I don't think so, but I have no arguement to back it up
