Does anyone know what this is? I have a W2K system and if I go to the task manager it is running and useing a lot of memory. It seems to cause some problems with certain websites. There is one website I visit that will lockup every time if this savenow.exe is running, but if I manually end it and then go back it works fine. Also after ending it I can't tell any difference, so basically I don't think I need it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what this is and how to disable it?

oh that thing, savenow.exe is a spyware program i believe
either my dad or my brother ran that thing for some reason because it suddenly showed up on my system, i took it out of startup and the problem was gone
i recently got a program that removes spyware from your system, when i ran it said savenow was spyware so i took it out
would you like a copy of this program? ICQ me at 110492672 if ya do, it's great for removing spyware components from things like Kazaa and Download Accelerator Plus

SaveNow apparently is something that's installed along with BearShare. WhenU.com (the makers of SaveNow) claim it's not spyware... those who have it don't necessarily agree...

Thanks. I downloaded adaware and it Identified Savenow as spyware and removed it from my system. Everything seems to be running smoother now.

Free software that's combined with spyware installs all kind of nasty things on your computer. In case you are looking for another filesharing utility somewhen in the future, please check our website http://spyprotect.koolhost.com and find out if it contains spyware or not. We have a list showing all MP3 finders that are around and if they have spyware (and which) or not. In addition, there is some background information as well.
Beside that, Ad-aware is indeed a great tool to find and eliminate spyware, but please make sure you always use the newest reference file ,otherwise it's just half as useful.

Is there a way to remove the spyware but still keeping my software to work. My Kazaa is not working anymore after I remove the spyware using ADaware. I need to reinstall it again and therefore the spyware is there again. I think it is impossible...but just in case anybody know anything ... :p

Oh no!! I was going to download KaZaa, but I use adAware. I won't let any spyware reside on my system. Hopefully, someone's been able to get it working after cleanin....
