Ok I have purchase most of hte Sim's games and still find them to be a bore. The first one my brother and I bought because of the revolutionizing idea. It was fun for the first few months. After the second came out we bought it once again. And so on and so forth. But now I see what a waste of good $$$$$ it was! I occationaly like to build a house now and then but nothing more. I see my mistake and hope that I am not the only tricked customer of this sad story. :(

As I said before you name suits you just fine, JK. The sims is one of the best investments I've ever made. That game is one of the best. Not only has it made millions of dollars the game is addicting, maybe thats just me or maybe you have somekind of disorder!!!!

I liked The Sims. Many people here at Sysopt don't like it (or they are too ashamed to admit it ;) ). Hot Date was a very fun expansion pack (the other's might be fun, I only own Hot Date though). I play to get The Sims 2 also. It is probably not gonna run on your old run-of-the-mill 650 mhz which most people played the original Sims on. :t

Ya the sims 2 looks like a great upcoming game. I think the best thing that I'm going to like about it is that you are more involved with their life. You can also build three stories and do you know if they are making it for PC or for game consoles.:t

lol, when I refer to the 650 mhz, I'm talking about the average Joe's current computer. The Sims 2 will probably need a 1 ghz to run, so those people with average Joe computers will need to upgrade. :t

Actually, sounds to me like D&D54 has the avg joe computer!! Sims was pretty cool at first.. the first couple expansions weren't so bad.. but then they just kept throwing those expansions out like they were shoveling out manure from stables...

I'm sure S2 will be in it's own way, quite interesting, but I prolly won't be investing in anymore of these games, as I tend to lose interest with games that require the teenage mentality to play

Uppin. Its a boring game. My brother let me try it and I would have my guy eat no food, get depressed, and lay carpet everywhere (even outside), buy a stove and have the guy burn himself alive.

I hate the sims.

this isn't the "community" forum where rudeness and childish behavour is acceptable. These sections of a more specific nature are for discussions, not petty name calling.

If you want to do that, go back to the community section and play in there.

i liked it for about a month, but theres nothing fresh in it after a month. sure expansion packs add new item,s but its still the same game.

imho, its innovative, and good fun if only for a short while.

i hope sims2 can do better

Who let Mireland out of the community forum???

Doc Evil, please report this matter to the mods so that this topic can be moved to a more appropriate venue and we may remove all game related childishness from this technical topic!

Sims still sucks, and to be honest, I didn't even know they were making a Sims2 until this thread came up!!

That would explain how JM has stuck around for as long as he has!!!

But back to the game at hand... Sims is great fun... for 13 yr olds (Cwin not included!) but then the kids mature (if only just a little bit) and realize that this game is pretty lame...

Well, DocEvil had a problem with the mindless chatter that was occuring in the Community Forum a couple of month back.. it's always nice to see ppl so uptight.. it helps remind you how much you are enjoying your own life...

I've learned to pay attetion to DE when he brings up technical stuff, seeing how he seems to know his stuff.. but I tend to ignore him the rest of the time when he tries to showoff his apparent superior maturity ...

you're gonna have to learn to ignore those who think so highly of themselves yet still insist on chatting with us plain and simple folk!!

Yup I do, I was around this site many moons ago and prefered it the way it was without the childish attempts by some members at conversation.

thanks for the vote of confidence, I appreciate it, but I don't try to show of "superior maturity", I just get sick when a technicial, or indeed a discussions changes into childish "your username is silly", thats what certain members turned the community forum into, and the majority of new members are going along with. It's chasing the older, not necessarily wiser tho, members away. That in my opinion is wrong. This place reeks of Childs playground and playtime now, it never used to.

Ditto above.

See, even this thread about the sims games has changed into mindless drivel...

True, true, so if anyone has any more opinions please post but besides that, I'm gonna either start a new thread or start more posting in other threads.

Later,
