Upgrading that old of a mobo/CPU combo would be too much of a hassle.
Depending on your computer case and power supply, it may be cheaper and offer a better improvement to just replace the mobo/CPU/RAM with something new. The AMD systems are very price/performance competitive.

I had thought of doing that but at the last resort but i must weigh up the pros and cons of the situation, but to replace all might prove a little to mutch at the moment,i will see what turns up thanks for your reply.

According to computergeeks.com
http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=M6TWC
The mobo will support up to a 550MHz Celeron processor. Not much of a jump from your 433 MHz one in there now.
You could check into a Powerleap adapter
http://plpadmin.tempdomainname.com/index2.html
These support up to a 1.4 GHz Pentium 3 or Celeron processor. Compatibility is an issue.

According to the owner's manual ( http://www.biostar.com.tw/support/driver/model.php3?name=M6TWC ), the FSB only goes up to 66, pretty much throwing out the Powerleap adapter (if I understand correctly you need at least a 100 FSB mobo to work in). Sorry about your luck. :(

Tiger, you can upgrade very cheap right now. AMD sells a Duron cpu for under $50, you can get a motherboard for it for about $50, and ram for about $50. For $150, you can basically have a new computer. Throw in a couple bucks for shipping and a new cpu cooler as well.
An AMD Duron system would be really fast for what you like to do. And it would even be upgradable!

I dont know what your financial situation is, but if you can afford approx $150, you could buy this and it would do you well. You could reuse all your other parts. Like drives, cables, case, maybe power supply. this sytem wouldnt require much power at all.

I see that I can teach a few things about thinking CHEAP (I'm naturally penurious).
With such old tech. Try asking around a relative, nephew, frend's kid, co-worker etc. probabily has hardware that you can get for free or very reasonable that would improve your 'puter. I regularly check out the local charities (here in the states you get a tax break for donationing cars, computors etc.) for exceptional deals. Find out if there is a local computor club, they may take it as a chalenge to upgrade your machine from the member's avaliable stashes of surplus parts. See if there is a local electornics surplus house where you can work a deal. Checkout the local computor shops and see what they have in their junk piles from trade ins. Peruse the local "for sale" adds and garage sales looking for deals.
Be picky, see whats availiable before splending any money, take any thing that is free, you can always throw it (or give it) away (or use it for parts) later.
You should be able to upgrade into the gigahertz range processors very cheaply (Or for free if you are lucky).
Enjoy!
