I always thought i had alright stuff ( hardware items ) like my hard drives and my CD-R and CD-RW drives......and just did a benchmark test on these and OH Oh..!

I suspected that the original HD i have ( first one ) which is a Seagate 40GB may be suspect..and i was right...

I did a BM on it and my Western Digital caviar 80GB and the Seagate only reads at 2.11 MB/s and writew speed is 6.39

The WD Caviar reads at 16.12 MB/s and writes at 21.71 MB/s

What a difference as the Seagate is old ( about two plus years and has been erased reformated several times....

Maybe my thinking of loading my system onto a brand new updated HD ( i am going to buy looks like a good idea now )

My CD-R I bought cheap at Fry's and is a Akapi 52x read and the benchmark says it only reads at 1.21 MB/s ..way too low...and the Samsung CD-RW reads at 2.18....both below the samples given fo test comparison..

Again i suspected the CD-R of taking too long and other ectt...

darn....I have a real good processor and memory which benchmark at the top of the spectrum.....wasted usage ....as her goes more debt and $$ ( already spent a great deal on my system ( over $1200 ) not counting these items above.
