I wanted to start a thread on this game to generate some wide range of opinions ,comments , and esp. the positive reasons why everyone likes this game so much....

i probably spend a great deal of time online playing this, as it just amazes me at the whole scope of the game both graphicly ( supurb!) and total makeup, including all the many Maps or battlefields to play out ( which most are just an amazing feat of putting this together )

I am also going to start a new thread on some major or minor glitches ,I personally have come across..... in the Desert Combat Mod ....

OK now...roll scene.. take one......... let it rip!!

I play Desert Combat for a long time and I still didn't notice any glitches that happened to me.

Ok. When you start the thread I will take a look at it.
Cause I had bugs too with the earlier versions.

Though ive only played the Demo i have to say BF1942 bored me rigid, just couldnt get into it at all, not fluent or fun enough for my liking in contrast to MOHAA or COD. Gave it about half an hours worth of playing and then binned it

Ive never played the demo, but I find it to be as good or better(esp DC) than COD. Just for the record I think COD is very fun too.

Should really keep this in one thread.

I hated MOHAA there is no aspect of team play there.
U just run arround and shoot.
Even on the levels with objectives. all of ur team mates would try
to acheive the objectives rather than some people staying back
and giving cover.

Bf-1942 requires team work in order to win like providing air cover keeping people pinned down while other teams go and take a flag.

And now the mod DC is really a all new game, helicopters are really important there are a slew of new weapons.

The best part is the ability to use all the vehicles and aircraft....and they did an outstanding job at this overall...

I have to say, I'm a bit with Jakk on this one.. I just haven't been able to get into BF.. I got CoD before BF and got sucked into that one very quickly.. So I guess when I finally got BF, I was a little too prepared to be knocked off my behind.. But it just wasn't the case.

Granted, I'll say that I really haven't given it that much chance, but first impression of the game wasn't that positive.. I didn't find the graphics that great, and I can't stand the 15 second spawn period.

that said, I've also been sucked into KOTOR and MP2 just recently.. so I guess BF qill have to wait for some time before I give it another shot..

Agreed. BF1942 is a bit of a yawner to me...
Controlling spots on the map? Who cares...
Mediocre graphics too.

But Enemy Territory has alot of teamwork
elements to it and looks way better.
All you need is a semi-decent system and
a cable/DSL connection.;)

I have found that any PC under 1.5 Ghz cannot properly play BF1942 or Desert Combat. The PC's just can't handle the constant processing required in BF. however, if you have a PC that is over 1.5 Ghz, have fun, because the game is a blast.

oh yeah. I forgot. that analysis above was based on the performance of a 1.3 ghz Celeron computer. in other words, bad comparison. Pentium 4's and Athlon's of that power do plow through the game. My bad.

My Pentium 4 2.8 ghz comp doesn't even budge in it's frame rate. Good little piece of technology.

Must be nice. I'm still using an 1800+.
Sometime this year hoping for 2500+.

i agree it is more in the RAm and vid card
