Parralel port MP3 players seem to run much cheaper than USB ones. I know the transfer rate s slower, but does anyone know the actual numbers for the top speeds / avg speeds? Thanks

Thanks deltaf508 08-30-2001, 10:02 PM Parallel port is muuuuuuch slower, USB is about 12 Mb/sec while parallel is only 1.5 Mb/Sec (I think). I have used both USB and parallel to connect two devices together (ie. laptop to compuer) and I must say the USB was by far faster. If you have the choice go USB, IMHO. Gary Mr.Goodbytes 08-30-2001, 11:11 PM USB connections are much easier to manage too. You'd be amazed at how flaky a parallel port can get once you start hooking up a bunch of different kinds of devices to it. Plus if you're transerring a lot of data, it tends to get nice and slow on parallel interfaces. Much faster than serial, but still much slower than usb. SysOpt.com
