Myself, I run mine at 300/600. But I know that many go higher than that.

I know that most people 'round here OC the tar out of their Ti 4200's. What's your highest rock solid gpu/ram clock speed?

I had a PNY Verto Ti4200 that would do 280/610 before dying out on its own for no reason. It wasn't Vmodded.

I know a person who got 340/650 with a Vmod on his Vtek Xtasy Ti4200. This was on aircooling - all it really required was a well-sized heatsink/fan.

Vmodding yields much more than extra cooling, but it tends to require extra cooling itself to be safe. Your numbers will be higher though - you will definitely be giving the 9600s heat.

300/610 using stock cooling

What is Vmodding a Ti4200?

Any way to find out what the RAM ns rating is on video card ram?

Its been a while since I had a 4200. I was able to overclock it to over 4600 speeds using the stock cooler but, being so long ago I can't remember the exact numbers.

300/600 for me......but never realy like the 600 memory after a while.

Modest voltage increases can yield extra speed while not jeapordizing the card. The only real enemies to vmodding are ham-handedness and ham-mindedness - they can cause maximum smoke in a jiffy.

Got my pny verto up to 320.6/648 after fitting an old AMD K6 heatsink and a small fan. Got 3dmark2001se of 14069with my P4 @ 2.9GHz.

By the way my RAM came with heatsinks fitted so I cannot check the rating. A friend of mine bought a different make and could not even get it up to 300/600. :(

Sorry for the off-topicness but, out of interest, what would you consider "modest" cV? 10% increase?

yeah, 10%'s safe. Most manuf. actually design the chips to be tolerant of at least a 10% voltage boost without frying.

The main thing with overvolted GF4s is cooling the core. The package really isn't the best for thermal dissipation and can get super-hot if not lapped.

Also, some of the cheap cards (aka PNY verto) use capacitors that are already pushed to the limit at stock speeds. Mine blew when I simply overclocked the card to a standard 280/610.

Quality GF4s generally don't have that problem though.
