Hey guys/gals/other carbon-based beings (heh... I learned something from science after all http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif)
I was wondering if ya'll knew of a site that gave the instructions on building a PC. I was just curious, and maybe other people are too. The most up-to-date one gave instructions on building systems with ATA/33 and /66 HD's with Pentium 2s (ugh).
If it is a picture guide with instructions, that would be nice...
BTW: I always get this question, so no I won't be building a computer today, the next day, next week, next month, or even next year... unless I somehow win Powerball (I wish).

You want sites? Look in the Beginners section. Take your pic.

I agree with Thekingofpain. Why go outside when there's a perfectly good one right here at SysOpt.
BTW, I'm not fooled. You didn't learn about carbon-based lifeforms from science, you heard it on Star Trek. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Lots of good info here on Sysopt, don't forget there's more than just the forums!

How about building your own case?
Anyone have info on that?

that would not be fun

Another good source is to go to motherboard manufacture web sites and download the motherboard manuals for the motherboards your interested in. (The same can be done for peripherals)
The MB manual will contain most of the technical information (power button connection pins, power switch connector pins, CPU settings, bard layoout and connector functions/features)

The best way to learn is hands on. I put together my first with a good friend who did it for a living. After that its cake. Except for the 1000 unexpected software problems. Hardware is the easy part!
