I'm in the market for some new RAM. Was going to go for Rambus but have been told it's too overpriced and Double Data (DDR) is much cheaper and better. Whats your views and reccomendations??

Well loul, unless you are calling your ram something other than what I call mine, Rambus and DDR don't co-exist at all, so your question is moot unless you are getting a new motherboard. DDR is Double Data Rate and works on DDR motherboards and is mostly used on AMD systems. Rambus or RD-Ram is used by Intel for its systems and is most prevelant on P4 systems, but it also is around on some P3 systems. What kind of motherboard do you have and what chipset does it use? Then you can decide what kind of RAM to buy. You can go to Crucial (http://www.crucial.com) and they will tell you what memory will work for your system and sell it to you at a pretty good price. As long as its not Rambus, you can get it there. Good luck!
