Originally posted by Bovon Nope Ok, I see what you meant...babble fish didn't translate exactly..should have been 'never run', not 'never function'.. Try this one... Unsere Farben laufen nie! I may be off on the exact phrasing but it appears he's unsure if Fabio is laughing at his knee. urdvurk 01-01-2004, 09:37 PM gosh I hate it when I'm eavesdropping and I can't understand the converstion... I know what you mean. I can read the words, I know what they mean, but I still don't get it. Oh well. I'll add some though: Gelukkig nieuwjaar! :) mireland 01-01-2004, 09:51 PM This makes more sense to me: The toothless, old tourist playfully skydived onto the chef's specially prepared mudpie. http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/schwenk.gif fancyf 01-01-2004, 09:53 PM ah... I see http://www.larose.com/America/Images/These_Colors_Flag.JPG nos couleurs ne se sauvent jamais! (as in run away) nos couleurs ne déteignent jamais! (colours that don't fade away) Ah well... :t Bovon 01-01-2004, 09:57 PM Ok..I think its pretty dam obvious by now that I do not read/write or speak anything other than English..and not too good with that at times. The original wording above was: Our colors never run! Translated by babblefish to French, came out: Nos couleurs ne fonctionnent jamais!...which turned out to be not even close. So I tried again with English to German, and came up with: Unsere Farben laufen nie. There you have it...another round of good intentions gone awry. mireland 01-01-2004, 09:57 PM nice...............flag! http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/snake2.gif Bovon 01-01-2004, 10:02 PM Thanks fancyf.. that was what I was trying to say all along. fancyf 01-01-2004, 10:06 PM Originally posted by Bovon There you have it...another round of good intentions gone awry. translation was perfect.. impressing for babel :) but "run" has too many meanings (uses) for babel to know which one was THE one... :t Ammok 01-02-2004, 02:18 PM Neo is the one. ;) SysOpt.com
