Games of 2004

Everyone has done the best and worst of 2003 but what would you say is going to be the best of 2004? Halo 2, Battlefield Vietnam, or maybe Starcraft Ghost?

Just out of curiousity ( and a little laziness, 'cos if I put the effort into looking I would probably find it but anyway ) have any final recommended system specs been released officially by ID for running this beast?

American McGee's Oz is coming out around X-Mas of 2004. I'm really looking forward to that more than anything. I was a big fan of Alice, and I hope EA doesn't let the license just rot.

P.S. What kind of mother names their child American anyway? :p

Half-life 2 and Doom 3 definetly. I played a few levels of both and i gotta say that from what i saw h2 will be the game of 04. H2 is scary as hell (and im not talkin about the scripted sequences either). That doesnt mean d3 is bad, in fact i thinks its gonna be amazing.

In the end, i guess it just comes down to whether u like apples or oranges if u catch my drift. Either way 04 is gonna have something great for all kinds of fps fans.

oh yea, i almost forgot about american oz. thanks for reminding me bob05. i dont think any game captivated me the way that alice did.

Playin Alice i always wondered what were the level designers on when they came up wit that stuff?

Hard to pick a potential best game, different genres are hard to compare. FPS game of the year will probably be a toss up between HL2 and Doom3. Best MMORPG will be EQ2, possibly World of Warcraft.

IMHO, it'll probably be between HL2 and Doom3. I'm a Halo fan so I gotta put Halo 2 up there as well.

I have to agree. Alice was a very nice experience. Playing it was like being in a whole different world if you will.

I also wonder that same question to, about the levels. They are puzzling and very unique.

I have to say DoomIII and HL2, but its hard to say of course until we play them, if that ever happens :) lets hope 2004 is not packed with as much let downs for the gaming community as 2003 was, im really looking forward to see what 2003's new DX9 Technology and new Video cards has to offer us gaming wise, its going to be a good year for gamers that I am sure of, with 2003 out of the way lets all hope and wait to see what happens from Valve and Id, needless to say I am very excited to see what this year brings us all on the computer hardware front, its going to be thrilling :)

you know I have to agree, that game was very diffrent :) I had a good old time playing it, I allways looked forward to seeing what the next level looked like, and it was allways unique :)

Well i have Stalker Alpha in my comp. Its with the old engine.. they made a new one by now. Fps was like over 100 :p
I can play like 6levels and shoot some rats in one level :p

Hey does anyone know when the release date is for BF Vietnamn? It looks like a killer game and was hoping that it will come out before May, 2004.

Well it says it should come out on March 22, but we never know, might be delayed. But I don't think so. So let's hope. :t
