I want to upgrade my memory but I don't know much about it. Right now I have 2 4X64 32MB PC100 8NS SDRAM. I want to get another 128 MB. My CPU is a PII 300 and my motherboard is a Intel 440BX. Can I get 128 MB SDRAM? What about buffered (I have no idea what this means)? Any suggestions where to get the best price? Thanks a lot.

If it is from Intel, you can get a 128mb stick and stick it in with the 64 you have now, if it is just an Intel based board, you might have to pull out 1 stick of 32, some manufacturers only include 2 DIMM spots.

The brand name of the motherboard is GVC and I have 3 DIMM spots. Do I have to worry about buffered? Thanks

As long as you have a free DIMM slot, and you have SDRAM that is rated at at least the FSB speed of yout CPU (the 300 uses a FSB of 66, so PC 100 is great) then you have nothing to worry about. Just plug in the DIMM and go. There is no buffering or pipelining to worry about on Slot-1 (p2) motherboards. Everything will be detected and set automatically.
