For several years I've always wanted to get involved in video editing but haven't gotten serious. A few week ago, I was looking around in Best Buy and saw the Pinnacle DV500 Plus kit. For some reason, when I saw it I just knew I wanted to get involved. I've looked at many different entry level systems but haven't been able to figure out which one I should try.
The two that look the most promising for me are the Pinnacle DV500 Plus, and the Matrox RT2000. And since the DV500 is several hundred less than the RT2000, it seems to be my number one option.
So, I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with these or other systems? If so, what do you think of them? Do they offer high quality work? What other systems might you recommend? Or do you have any general information regarding video editing?
Thanks for the info,
LK

Well, I guess nobody here has any interest in video editing. I understand that, but does anybody have some ideas where I could find out what I'm looking for?
Thanks

Also, the rest of the site looks promising and I will be checking it out ASAP, to see if it has any more information that will be useful. Which it looks like it will.

I also would recomend Dazzle DVC. Mine fried on me because I was stupid and plugged the wrong adapter in it. So make sure you Spray paint your adpters or something. I have not told my wife what happened yet, I think I'll waite and scrounge and replace it.HE HE! Also, a good redering software is ulead it works pretty good! It seems to be one of those programs they use to benchmark computers with to see how good the puter really is. Anyhow that's my suggestion!

I forgot, if you really want to go cheap. this is what I did after I fried my Dazzle. I already had an intel camera pro pack. It has an video connector on it and it allows you to use your video camera to either record video or you can down load your video to your hard drive and use the ulead software to edit. The only problem is when you record or download there won't be any noise. But, if your going to add wav files and stuff like that to the movie then it's a cheap way to go. The camera cost about 100.00, I don't now how much the Ulead video syudio cost, it came with my puter system.
