nutty disc i/o (to me)

Being welcomed is a small pleasure
in life. Thanks.
Hewlett Packard is running with ME
2000. With just desktop icon scene
in view (no other software loaded by
me) the disc read write heads on
hard drive hammer themselves
silly for long periods (minutes)
and no apparent reason. Just
wondering why.

Get Spybot, update it, and run it.

Did disk cleanup and updated
existing spybot. We shall see.
