anyone mess with IE6 beta yet

just started messing with it and while it sucks currently it holds a lot of potential!

Its blindingly fast, it has good looks, and very compatible! I just has tons of features missing and is VERY beta. It'll be interesting to see what its like in the end.

Hopefully they clean up that interface a little bit. I ran from MSN when they implemented that horrible looking purple mess. That looks painfully similar to it.

That IE looks very much like the one included in the Longhorn 4051 PDC Alpha release. I'm just waiting for that 3D interface (codenamed Aero) that Microsoft promised. ;)

yeah it is the longhorn version. It'll be released for xp, 2003, and longhorn.

Fist, its interface is a lot cleaner. I aggree with you the whole purple thing was a horrible horrible thing. This is simpler but nicer looking. Its not perfect, I hate the big favorites star, and I don't know black is the right color but it is beta and I'm sure it will look a lot different in a final ver.

As far as gunk, its EXTREMLY slim. The download was about 2mbs I belive, and it has very little fluf. Its so fast though. A noticible speed increase to opera 7.5, IE, & myIE2.

Bob, I can't agree more. The 3d interface will rule, I've been waiting for that ever since OS-X 10.2. Nice stuff IMO, MS has a way to go before it begins to catch Apple in the desktop market.

You guys realize that this site is not an official M$ site? The version available here is a rebuild of the real version found in windows Longhorn alpha build 4051. The joker who did this #1 will probably get sued & #2 did a horrible job as it runs & functions like a POS.

YES, it is extremely similair graphically but you will need to get your hands on Longhorn build 4051 & try the REAL version which is completely different, works very well, & is BLAZINGLY fast.
