I HAVE P2 333,2 8.4 HARDDRIVES 196 RAM VODOO 3 2000. WHAT I DID IS FORMATED THEN WENT INTO THE BOIS NOT A GOOD IDEA? SO NOW MY HARD DRIVES ARE COMMING UP AS PRIMARY IDE CONTROLLER,SECONDARY IDE CONTROLLER THEY USED TO BE GENERIC WOULD THIS AFECT MY SYSTEM AS I HAVE RESET FACTORY DEFULT ON MY MOTHERBOARD AND WONT RESTART SAYS NO MOUSE CON TO PS2 AND IS VERY SLOW,IF I SHUT DOWN AND THEN START OK BUT VERY VERY SLOW COULD U PLEASE HELP,AS IVE GOT NEW MOUSE,MODEM,KEYBOARD HAVE NOW REFORMATED C,D DRIVES 3 TIMES AND REINSTALLED WIN9X GETTING VERY TIRSOME THANX

Your right..! Resetting the BIOS is not necessary when formatting.

No doubt, your next lesson will likely be on how to configure the BIOS settings.

The computer will set up everything the way it wants, and I couldn't see anything wrong with the IDE settings it picked. Should work fine when the BIOS is finally configured correctly.

There is usually a manual for every computer or motherboard that will explain the BIOS settings. Otherwise you can post the model of motherboard you are using, and possibly someone can make a printout of their settings to follow as a guide.

By the way, using all-capital letters in posts is about the equivalent of shouting. Otherwise, it works fine when programming in BASIC.

Keep making mistakes, and with persistence you are bound to learn a bunch of things...
