Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : MPEG-4 Rocks!!!
I was playing around with a bunch of programs and codecs that turn a DVD into a file small enough to fit on a CDR with great quality! The only drawback is that encoding in MPEG-4 takes TONS of cpu horsepower, I have a classic Athlon 750 and it took me 9 hours to encode Gladiator. It only takes about a Pentium II to play them though. MPEG-4 is also known as Divx, I don't know why. Full length films in great quality (about VHS) in 650 megs, DIVX rocks!

But Divx doesn't work on DVD players. Panasonic's MPEG-1 encoder produces quality nearly as high as Divx (though still bigger, 60 minutes high quality video on 1 cd) and works on DVD players. I'd say give it a try. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

And home made vcds only work in stand alone dvds that read cdrs.

Hmm, just throwing this out to the mods, but there is something funny about the number of posts ive had. It says up there ^ that I had 150, yet as I have been posting within the past 10 min, ive worked my way back up to 150. I havnt been posting in Community either. Ive posted 3 times now counting this one. So from what the first post I had in this topic says, I should have atleast 153.

Makaveli, the number of posts you have is updated to show your current post count in all of your posts. The number changes as your post count increases. After you posted that last bit, your count increased to 151 in all three places in this thread.
