cant get nero to burn in wav

I'm trying to burn an audio cdr in wav from my hdd using nero.Whenever I try to make a disc using nero 5.5 it burns it in cda format.Whether it's in mp3 or wav format on my hdd ,nero always burn's it in cda.It was burning ok a few weeks ago .I dont burn that many audio cd's to know when exactly in started doing this but I updated to version 5.5.10.54 recently before this started happening. Any help appreciate

The problem is you are telling nero to make an audio cd. That's always cda. Tell it to make a data cd, then you'll get a wav or mp3 or whatever. :t

Why is it that my computer wont/cant play cda but my stand alone cd player will .

Try associating the file type cda with your player (Winamp or whatever).
