Hi,

I saw a website selling 'old' motherboards at cheap prices. I would appreciate some recommendations/comments about which to get. I intend to buy a AthlonXP 333FSB cpu to go with the board. Thanks.

Asus A7V-333A (SKT A KT333 Chip, XP Ready, Onboard Audio).
MSI KT4 Ultra (Skta Ddr333, 8xagp, USB 2.0 Supports 800mhz)

Also where can I find a website that compares older ATI Radeon e.g. 9000 and NVdia Geforce cards e.g. GF MX440 as listed below to see which is better of these Geforce MX cards is better...

1. MSI MX440 8x AGP 64MB TV-Out Retail Box
2. Leadtek Winfast A180T Mx440 8x AGP 64MB DDR Tv-Out
3. Gainward GeForce4 PowerPack Pro/600 8X AGP MX440 64MB DDR, Video-Out Retail Box.

Thanks.

There's no real difference between any two MX440 cards. They are all pretty mediocre, but acceptable. Still, I prefer MSI as a rule.

I don't know if the Asus motherboard supports the Barton or not. I know that the MSI does.

Would a Asus A7N8X non-deluxe motherboard (SoA, NForce2, 266/333/400FSB, Ddr266/333/400, 8xagp, USB 2.0) be a better choice than the other two?

I only just noticed it on the website (selling for £16 UKP inc taxes, which is cheeeeeeep!), and it seems to be the most recent of these boards and has good reviews about it.

Thanks.

The A7N8X-X is no better. The regular one is a wee bit better. The chief advantage is the dual-DDR feature.
