FWIW: www.pcpitstop.com (http://www.pcpitstop.com) will perform a free nifty analysis of your system. If you click on "details" when it's completed(system summary), you can save some time by viewing it all on one page.

Hi,
I visited them once after analyzing my computer then suggested I buy a new one.
Was not happy with that suggestion. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Well, I would never need this site as anything but a curiousity but the following under "YOU NEED" rules me out because I use Linux:

Operating Systems: At this time we can only test and tune PCs running the Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000,
and XP operating systems. Currently, we are able to report somewhat more information and issue more tips for Windows 95, 98, and Me
than we can for Windows NT, 2000, or XP.

Browser: Our current tests require the functionality of
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or higher
(click here to download IE). PC Pitstop uses signed ActiveX controls and JavaScript.

CMonster: Looks like yer SOL on the Free test. At least you gotta Free OS...
Penguin Trivia: The movie "Titantic" was produced on a Linux system. And most recently IBM(HAL?)invested 1 Billion in Linux research, etc. I guess folks are attracted to Free Stuff...Regards,

Muchmark: My old Compaq P120 scored -34...I turned it into a planter.
They weren't telling me anything that I didn't already know!! Regards,

Site is bogged down. Very slow. It said my computer was very fast and good for what I am using it for. Flagged me for security "My E-mail" or something. It also said to check my HD for errors since I haven't done it in awhile. ???

It told me that my computer wasn't good, and that i should upgrade... I have a 1.4Ghz Athlon, 60gb hdd, Geforce 3 and 512mb ram running Win98SE .....

Either the people who run it are a bunch of kids or it has a lot of bugs to work out..
