yes thanx 1st what i did is formated my c,d drives reinstalled win98 have speedeasy pen 2 333 think ihave qdi legend mother board dont know witch 1 went into bious and hard drive come up with diff names wont restart comes up with no mouse att ps2 very annoying if i shut down and start ok but very slow got new mouse keyboard and modem also in addvance settings for modem what would be the best setting ie s11=50 or some thing like thatits a haicom 56bps internal modem ham in control panel do i need to flash bois????????/?? any help muchly app judd

Regarding the BIOS, as long as the hard drives are identified correctly by their size in MegaBytes, you should be OK. Normally, you should just select the "Auto" setting for hard drives.

The mouse and keyboard should also have been detected and installed correctly, and the modem too.

If you are having a lot of trouble with a new installation of Window98, perhaps you should reset your BIOS to the factory default settings, and perhaps even reinstall Windows after resetting the BIOS.

thanx fingers for that i have reset factory bois and the hard drives seem ok but still having prob restarting win just takes so long once im in win not to bad but still my sys running slow should i flash the bois ive been told not a good idea so can u help ive had a look and it looks like its a p61440ex i know its not me ram as i got 196 meg
