Hi,

I just swapped out a power supply on my Windows 98 PC. I removed the AGP video card but thoutht better of it and replaced it.

When I booted the system, the usual Windows 98 splash screen showed up with the normal color but after a few seconds it changed to 16 colors and a message that reads: "System Administrator disabled the Display Control Panel". does anyone know what this means?

Also the My Computer icon

Well what it means is The system Administrator has has disabled the abliltiy to change the display options.. Is there anyone else in your home that uses your computer and would have done that for some reason??

Win98...simple...log on as administrator and fix it. Or simply edit the registry value for that option...

If you need help finding it, I probably can figure it out again...it's pretty easy, I just have to get to another W98 machine first.

Check here (http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/167/) for a registry edit to gain access to the display control panel.

If I've read correctly you need to change the value from 1 to 0.
