Welcome to Sysopt!

Well, I would say get a new PS. It is not recommended that you open up a PS to work on it, unless you are very well versed in doing so because the capacitors inside hold large amounts of electricity even when the unit is unplugged.

I would try another PS first and make sure your motherboard and other components are not damaged. While it doesn't always happen, PSs can kill a system with a power surge when they die.

Best of luck and thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the forums.

tried another power supply and everything seemed to work, just need to send the blown one back for a replacement. When we opened the power supply, you could see the blown fuse, didn't need to touch anything. Believe i just got a bad power supply, hopefully.
Thanks for the response.

Ahhh geeze, I do hope you bought it from an understanding place of business...cuz when you opened the case, you voided the warranty...unless you discovered a way to open it without breaking the seal.
