Hey I'm buying parts to build a computer, but I need help deciding what monitor to get. I want to get a good quality low flat panel, price monitor. I want to get at least a 17" but i prefer a 19". Oh yeah, is it possible for me to get like 4 of the same 15" and then link them all together and get one big screen?? Thanks.

19" LCDs are a beast. I personally have a NIC 17" and I love it.

As to the 4 15"s hooked together. You can do that....but thats a LOT of work and you would have separations in the screens unless you did a LOT of dangerous mods to them. Pricey mod to make too.

Either that, or you'd need an expensive card.

Getting four 15" monitors to work together would actually be quite easy: get the monitors and get the required number of videocards (either two dualhead cards, one AGP, one PCI, or a dualhead AGP and two singlehead PCI cards, or whatever).

First get the primary (most likely the AGP) card working. Then put the rest in your system and turn it on.

If you use 2000 or XP the videocards will be recognized automatically, and the extra monitors will show up in Display properties > Settings. You can then adjust everything, like the positions of the monitors, resolutions, etc. to your liking.

Sure it's easy to hook them up, but then theres the mounting...and positioning. And that wouldn't give him one big screen...it'd be four seperates...right?. I was thinking he wanted to make them all into one seemless monitor :D

ok, now i'm really confused...... -.- so if i did what urdvurk told me, would the monitors give me one whole big screen? or 4 little ones?

No, four little ones. I thought you meant that. You do get one big screen in the sense that you get a very large desktop.
