Geforce 4 TI 4800 SE Tearing (Never Overclocked)

Ok here is the deal.

I owned a Geforce 4 TI 4800 SE and I overclocked it about 20% "Ran Great" Some reason when I rebooted it fried "was told it was a defect by gainward" Anyway I got my RMA and sent it in got a new one back...

This one I get tearing when I back the GFX down as far as I can?!?! I Underclock the ******* and get tearing:confused:

Drivers are up to date and everything. Also Might I add that the blasted card gets REALLY REALLY REALLY HOT..

did you try blowing the fan out on the card with some can'd Air? remove the side of your case and make sure your fan is spinning correctly free, then blow it out with some air. if it still over heats then you got a bad Video Card.

Have you checked to make sure that the fan on the gpu hs is spinning?

There is no problems with dust or the fan. I do notice that it gets very very very hot and near the point of burning your hand..

I heard in another forum that somebody said the bearings could be bad causing the problem.. Mabie the fan is not spinning at full RPMS

I would RMA the VideoCard it sounds pretty bad, if it’s new it should be under warranty, but if you replace the Fan you Void it.
