It would work great but it says that it requires GL_EXT_texture_compression_s3tc. I trying to figure out what that is and if any one could help that would be great.:t Direct1 12-19-2003, 11:53 PM Need system specs including video card and drivers? Sounds like a video card (or driver) problem? seanieboy77 12-20-2003, 01:15 PM I have a VIA AC'97 Audio controller but i'm not sure about the video card, how would I find that out? CompGeek01 12-20-2003, 08:15 PM Get a system ID program like Aida32 (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php) But it sounds like your video card doesn't support the textures of the game...or it could be as simple as having to upgrade your card's drivers.. -B seanieboy77 12-21-2003, 10:17 PM What kind of a video card would I need than? Direct1 12-21-2003, 10:39 PM We cannot help you without knowing what your system is? Please list your motherboard (make & model), processor (Intel or AMD & what speed), RAM (how much and type), hard drive(s), video card (make, model, is it intergrated on motherboard or is it AGP or PCI), your operating system, power supply - called PSU (make & how many watts). Is this a computer you built? Is it store bought? What make and model is your computer if it is store bought? seanieboy77 12-22-2003, 01:46 AM Ok the specs Motherboard: nemsi CPU: P3 RAM: 512 Hard Drive: 80GB 7200rpm Video Card: 64mb SIS 315 Operating System: Windows ME Power Supply: 350watts And it was home built Direct1 12-22-2003, 02:23 AM Well, with those specs, you will need to upgrade your MB, CPU, and video card to play any of the newer games. I would also get DDR RAM & possibly a new PSU -- (high-quality 400 watt minimum) too. You could try and change your video card to a Sapphire's RADEON 9000 Atlantis Pro (http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/simprod.asp?pid=5709&ad=pwatch) or similar. That should let you play some games but you will need a better system to play all the newer games. Good luck! :t Dark_Raver 12-22-2003, 03:18 AM now i don't mean to get on anybody's case but i don't quite agree with Direct1. Your specs arent amazing but other than the vid card you don't look all that bad. I don't really know what speed the P3 is but ive been using my P3 to play BF1942 for a long time before i upgraded my CPU, all i had to get is a new vid card. And i have nothing against SIS, mostly because ive never tried them but NVIDIA and AVI do iffer the best performance when it comes to video games. I believe that getting one of the more recent vid cards might fix your issue. It would seem that GL_EXT_texture_compression_s3tc might be in issue linked to opengl but im still using my old radeon 8500 le and it performes better that many of the 9000 series. the SIS 315 series doesn't seem like a very good gaming card anyways. don't worry about memory too much, 64 is enough. Any of the cards available now for under $150 are capable of running the game and might fix your issue. DR Direct1 12-22-2003, 03:56 AM No offense taken DR, everyone has their own opinion. :) Upgrading is never a bad idea IMHO. :t seanieboy77 12-22-2003, 01:09 PM Do you think that the video card that you put a link to will solve my problem? Direct1 12-22-2003, 01:47 PM It depends on what your plans are? If you are not planning on updating your PC for at least 6 months, then yes, I think that card will *HELP* your current system. If you are planning on upgrading in the next few months, I wouldn't spend the money now on a video card. I'd then get a really good card like an ATI 9600 Pro or XT or an 9800 Pro or XT. Good luck! :t seanieboy77 12-23-2003, 10:41 PM Thanks!:t seanieboy77 12-25-2003, 11:08 AM Merry Christmas!:D seanieboy77 01-13-2004, 08:22 PM OK I just got my Radon 9600 with 256 Mb Ram, but now whenever I try to create a map my computer causes a fatal error and the programs exits out. Will the problems ever stop???? Please help:confused:  CompGeek01 01-13-2004, 08:54 PM On the same game? Have you gotten the updated drivers? I'm sorta unfamiliar with the game.. -B seanieboy77 01-13-2004, 09:15 PM My video card is up to date and I have the most recent Battlecraft version and the most recent Battlefield patch. morpheus kain 01-13-2004, 09:33 PM Uninstall all your video drivers, download the latest ATI drivers and install them. Then download the latest BF1942 patch. If that doesn't work reinstall directX and then reinstall the video drivers again. That's a decent start. SysOpt.com
