I've got an Iomega 12x4x32 Cd Writer ,Model 650. I hadn't written a cd for awhile, wife was last to. Now my adaptec software says when I try to write a cd " No writer found". Went to the Iomega site, they said try unplugging it, checking the cable, fire it up again. Same results. Next they said try uninstalling the software, then reinstalling. Tried that, no results. Its recognized as a cd writer in the bios as its posting I see, but for some reason the software doesnt. This started on my ASUS P5AB board with AMD 450, I was too lazy to mess with as I was building a new box in a couple days, but now on my AMD 1.0 GHZ with ECS K7V board same thing. Bad writer? Wife changed some setting?
I went into system tests in the Adaptec software, see's it only a a cd rom. Any ideas? I think I also changed the cable when I built the new box.
