Possibly adware/spyware? Also, check programs like MSN Messenger. The newer versions try to launch MSN's home page when they start at Windows startup. Check your Start-->All Programs-->Startup folder. If all else fails, check msconfig to see what's actually launching at startup, and try to pinpoint the app causing it. sbob420 12-17-2003, 02:47 PM check the scheduled tasks in the control panel see if ie is in there Midknyte 12-17-2003, 02:53 PM since it's win2k, you'll have to download and use the winxp version of msconfig: http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Msconfig.htm zillion 12-17-2003, 03:08 PM thanks guys.. yes, MSN did launch the home page (this is a work computer) and the msconfig trick worked... the computer had no msconfig on it for some reason but with that download I'm all set. Thanks again!! -Z Midknyte 12-17-2003, 03:14 PM win2k doesn't come with msconfig. that's why you need to use the one from xp. SysOpt.com
