Hard to believe that its just gone past the 10 year mark since Doom was unleashed on us all.
I remember when I first got the shareware (a concept now dead :( ) version staying up all night to finish it on my cranky old 486-33.
Sadly I'm the only person I know of personally who actually bought the full boxed game instead of just pirating it from a friend.
I wonder how long till Doom 3 finally sees the light of day. With HalfLife 2 being delayed, again, iD have had a bit of a breat, who knows they might ship doom3 before HL2.

i too am the proud owner of legitamate copies of ultamate doom and doom 2.
the main reason i got these was because of the endless amount of new .wad files and launchers that integrate gl into doom.
i recommend everybody that still loves doom tries out jdoom, for an old game the new 3d graphics aint bad.
also, get this: doom 64 for pc (http://www.doom2.net/~elbryan/index.html)
really great group of people that made a port of the n64 game for pc with high resolution support of course.
that site also has music from all the versions of doom.
i liked that because the rock music in the original didnt cut the mustard with me, so i downloaded the fantastically creepy playstation sounds and now my doom experience is unparalleled.:r here's to a good 10 years and the hope that this will be extended with doom 3.
