Palm m505 modem sync through network

I could not find anywhere else on here to post this and was hoping that someone here would be able to help me. I am trying to configure my m505 w/modem to sync with my email here at work. I have the settings all set to dial in to the network but then I get an error saying disconnected from computer. I know I put in the correct username/password because I am the admin, but I am not sure what to do next. Has anyone done this? Any ideas on what needs to be done on the server? I know that a few people here dial in for emails, but that was all setup before I started and I dont deal with it much.

I am thinking this is a problem more on my server side than on the palm side.
