Generic question about SPIN time for CD-R's

What would be a "Normal" start spin-up and stop spin-down on most CD-r's on a updated P4 system. Well about 6 months old..

Like when you place a cd in, from the time the door closes and the cd starts to spin and then the starts reading.

And how much time should it run after it done reading the data?

Just a generic question I hope for now.
