I lucked out big time yesterday. I was taking a friends son out to fly an r/c plane ,it was the first time for a while with no wind, I backed out of his drive way and as I went forward my driver side upper ball joint broke! The wheel was leaning in to the truck at a crazy angle. SO glad it didnt give way @ 60 mph on the freeway.
My little buddies dad happens to be a mechanic for the local water dept who also works part time at a local garage really close by so we jumped in his truck, borrowed a wrecker and towed my truck in to his garage, 30' or so.
My little friend was really bummed so we took his dads truck and flew the plane anyway.
On the way back,after the little guy ploughed my plane and snapped the wing in half, we stopped at the parts store and picked up the upper & lower ball joints. His dad had allready taken off the wheel and was ready to assemble it.
so we worked the rest of the afternoon and had it back on the road before 5.00pm.
It cost $35.00 for the ball joints, $20 for a new wing & $15 for pizza and we had fun too.
Guess I am just a lucky guy.
