Ok, here is my prob.
everyone once in awhile my computer bogs down big time..
situation 1: running a couple of programs (icq, photoshop, Netscape and winamp) occurs with and with out photoshop (or with another program) say i open Netscape it take 20 min (exaggeration) to load my homepage (usually 2 sec).
-- reboot all's cool for awhile
situation 2: playing TFC change map 3 frames per sec from 70. this does not happen all of the time but does happen to often.
-- reboot all's cool for awhile

Ok Specs:
Athlon 700
Epox kx133 MB (i think the numbers are right)
American Megatrends 03/10/00
Voodoo 3
256 MB PC100
Cable modem
Western Digital 20Gig 7200 rpm ATX100
on board sound.
internal zip
cd rom 32x
cd burner 2x2x24
300 Watt power
17in monitor
cordless mouse (logitech)
some usb stuff (printer, Flashcard cable, pda)

I have also checked my cpu usage during these time with 2 diff utilities Norton and one free download.. Norton said CPU usage 80%+ constantly but when i moved my mouse it dropped but screen still bogged down.. the other said cpu at about 50% and when i moved my mouse the cpu went to 100%.

I think it may be a video driver issue or maybe a heat issue. I have changed, reloaded, reinstalled my voodoo3 but still happens. If it is a conflict I dont know what else to do.

Thanks for reading....

This sounds like its a problem with your cable modem. Any more info on the network setup?

Ideas:

1) Possible Memory Leak
2) Possible Out-Of-Date-Drivers
3) Possible Cable Latency Problem

Disconnect your cable modem and see if your P.C. works any better. I have seen this type of problem before but with USB cable modems.

Sounds like system resources are low. Do a search there are plenty of articles out there.
