I've got a bios upgrade, and an awdflsh.exe.
Now I need to format a dos 6.2+ bootable floppy.
XP doesn't have that facility. I can find downloads for bootdiscs, but they seem to have lots of excess bits (like deltree exe)
I don't want to get more grief than I've got already.

Does bootable floppy = boot disk?
If not, any one suggest how to format one?

you can make a bootable floppy with xp.

open my computer. right click on the floppy drive and click format. a new window will open up. in format options, there is a check box to create an MS-DOS startup disk.

Thanks Midknyte. You've cracked it. How come getting such basic info is like catching a frog with soapy hands?

Floppy formatted, bios boosted. modem magnificent.

esupport sucks. Charge you for an upgrade that doesn't work properly and won't let you reinstall the original.

BP Bill - thanks for the url - too much choice. Us idiots like it simple.

The only choice I use is a Win98SE bootdisk. It has CDROM suipport and they boot fine on XP machines when I need to flash the BIOS.
