I need more sdram and I'm seeing a lot of generic stuff out there. Should I stick to major brands for memory?

I don't know how your specific motherboard handles low-quality RAM, but I thought I'd throw in a note: I bought some "generic" SDRAM a while ago and it turned out to be Infineon. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I'll take that kind of generic any day.

As cheap as RAM is right now, I'd go with the name brand stuff.

My experience is the opposite of Howste's. I bought generic ram for my Amptron system (btw, Amptron and ECS and PC-Chips are the same family of companies), and I had BSODs for a month before I could figure out that it was the ram. At the time, $75 down the drain.

Crucial can tell you over the phone the exact ram for your motherboard, and they're selling really cheap right now. (That's what I put in my Amptron and have had no problems since ...)

My 2 cents ...

This is (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=K7VMA&x=11&y=12) what I would buy.

Thanks jad1097, I think I will do that!
