Well i am updating my current setup new case, mobo, cpu, and graphics card and am going to get rid of everything compaq puts on there comps. i have a copy of windows me laying around and would like to know all the steps of a) getting rid of every thing on my old hdd b) install new mobo (shuttle ak11 with duron 750 256megs pc133) into new case. c) remove floppy, cd rom, cdrw, hdd, and nic card from old computer d) install the compontents into new case e) check everything turn on then what do i do from there. I also have a new graphics card abit geforce 2 t-400 tv out. As much help as possible is needed thanks. dyer_maker 08-22-2001, 12:41 AM To completely start over you will need a Win9x boot disk. First run fdisk and setup any partitions you want...making sure to delete all the old ones first. Once you have fdisked you will have to reboot...leaving the boot disk in the floppy drive. Then once you get back to the a:\ type in format c: /s....then you will be ready to setup WinME...hope this is what you were looking for. dyer_maker SysOpt.com
