Video Card Tuning?? advice

I have ,for the record the FX5900 card and Nvidia has this menu bar in desktop settings (Properties) that lists the different ways to adjust the card setttings.

first question: under Direct 3D there is a box for max system memory.for PCI mode textures.
What do you think this should be set to? i have it on default at present..any ideas?

Second question: the readings on the temp say...

GPU......48C

Ambient.....36C

Are these ok readings and what are the proper ranges?

I suppose it depends on the card you have and system it is running on.

I have mine set as high as it'll go 'cause I got 1 gig mem, but u may wanna set it 1/2 ur ram.

Those r OK temp if ur OC, mine r:
Drivers: 45.23
GPU: 35* c
Ambient: 29* C
Room Temp: 78* F
CPU 38* C

Fans:
2 80mm intake; front
2: 80mm exhust; back with deflector so it wont interfear with CPU fan.
1 60mm exhust; PS
1 60mm intake;side panel

how do you find your GPU temp?
