I have cleared the following:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\RunMRU]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplo rer\TypedURLs]

[HKEY_USERS\profilename\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs]

and I still have something in my address bar.
It is like some URLs are hidden maybe encrypted somewhere else.

When I type 'w' in the address bar it brings these choices:
Search for'w'
Web events
WinZip.Ink

I did a search in my registry with the these values, nothing found.

When I turn the Autocomplete off, it is OK.
But the information is still there when I turn the Autocomplete on.

Do I have to do the search in regedit or regedt32 or both?

Could it be somewhere else?

Thanks a lot!

i know this sounds basic but have you deleted the history in internet options?

Rather than digging through the registry to get rid of history or records of previous URL's, I'd suggest you try System Mechanic. It has a feature called "Ensure Your Privacy" where it will erase all records.

Dowload the trial version at the link below:
IOLO System Mechanic (http://www.iolo.com/download/default1.htm)

Go to the above link. There are a bunch of "automatic" reg edits that will take care a lot of stuff. One of them is for clearing the Address Bar. It works real good!

Web Events maybe a folder on your HD that it is finding to "help you!" so not sure if you can get rid of that w/o deleting the folder...

Sounds like AutoComplete is doing it's job, http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q217/1/48.ASP
Checkout History Reader/Inspector at, http://www.talknet.de/~wolfgbaudisch/

Just right click on any blank spot on the gray bar below your screen and go to "protperties" Click on the "Advanced" Tag and it will bring you to a button "Clear" When I clear that it erases everything in the address bar. Then, right click on you IE Icon and go to properties. There are a few ways of deleting things there.

When AutoComplete is turned on, IE will draw from webpages listed in your history folder.

In using "system Mechanic" to do a clean-up
on my PC, I resolved my problem.
It is really an excellent tool!

This Tech Discussion forum is very useful.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
