What is the absolute best set of speakers, and the best sound card available? I've tried looking for reviews, but I can't find anything after 1999.

Soundcard- Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Speakers- Klipsch Promedia 2.1/4.1/5.1 depending on how many speakers you want. I have the Turtle Beach and the Promedia 2.1 and they are awsome. Just my opinion though.

Thanx for info, I went lurking on some forum full of audiophiles, Klipsch and Sonigistix are the best places to get speakers, and MM2000 by Soni is the best speaker, and Santa Cruz = best sound card. I had never heard of any of those companies before today...

Everyone raves about the Klipsch speakers. They have a new 5.1 system that just came out and I understand that Creative Labs is launching a new soundcard to replace the SB Live! series so check that stuff out before buying anything.

uhhhhhhhhhhh what about Sony making good speakers? LMAO!

Klipsch For Life.

Nothing more needs to be said. Look up past threads if you want more evidence....or go buy some and try them yourself, return them if you think they suck.

hehe, Klipsch,...uh, what? I said, KLIPSCH!!!.

I guess some time last night I was messing with a very very quiet audio file, and I had the sliders all cranked in Windoze and the main volume knob on my Klipsch Promedias at about the one o'clock position (about 60% of full volume). Then I left it like that and went to bed. Mistake. Ya see, so far I've not pushed the volume over 50%. And not because I'm pampering the equipment, but because honestly it's way more loud than I can stand. So anyways...

...let's just say that this morning, when I casually double-clicked on one of my favorite Staind songs (Suffer) coffee was no longer necessary. If fact, luckily I didn't have a cup of joe in my hand 'cause it would have went everywhere. Just about blew me outta my chair. Sounded great & scared the living **** outta me all at once.

And I only have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's, the babies of the Klipsch family. Hehe, these are babies the same way Bam-Bam is a baby (Flintstones).

Oh, and about you not having heard of Klipsch before now, ssshhhhhh, don't say that too loudly. They've only been building some of the finest high-end home audio speakers for over fifty years, since 1948, and have a world renowned reputation for outstanding sound quality reproduction. (No I don't work for them. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif)
