My Burner: HP CD-WRITER DVD Combo 9900J

Aight, before i had Easy CD Creator 5.xx.xx and NERO 5.5.10 at the same time.....both worked great---even had a Adaptec Tray Icon telling me if its ready to burn or not, etc..

Yesterday, i decided to upgrade my NERO to the newest 6.0 version...

Now it wont work.

I uninstalled it and installed back my 5.5.10 and still didnt work. I uninstalled the EZ CD Creator....and use just nero 5.5.10 and still dont work.

None of them works now. I tried uninstalling the driver for my burner...and same thing.

BUT it still reads CD and play DVD...just doesnt burn

HELP? SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO?

thanks in advance

Edit the registry and delete them both, then install over again.

Un-install both programs first! Then...

Click the Start Button... Then Run... Type regedit... Click Ok... A "Registry Editor" box should open... Click Edit... Then Find... Type in nero... Click Find Next... Delete what it finds... Hit F3 to find the next instance of nero... Delete and keep repeating until nero is no more... Then do the same for Easy CD Creator. Good luck! :t

Why would you have an Adaptec tray icon saying Nero is ready? Adaptec stopped making burning software years ago. Two burning apps on one computer is asking for trouble.

Also, go to www.ahead.de and see if your model of CD burner is compatible with that version of Nero - somewhere in there you'll find a list of compatible drives.

I have had that problem and it was because the new version of Nero wasn't bundled with my burner. Depends on if you bought a new retail version or not!
