i've just visited the UK Crucial web site and 256MB PC2100 DDR ram is £26.99 ex VAT. With VAT it is £31.71 and that includes free delivery.
But Generic (unbranded) 256MB PC2100 DDR Ram is £39.89 inc VAT and then theres £3 delivery charge from a UK supplier and thats the cheapest i could find DDR ram.
So my question is:
Is crucial ram any good as it is cheaper than generic ram?
When i get the ram its gonna go in an MSI K7T266 Pro Raid mobo.
Thanx RobUK

Crucial is very excellent, high quality RAM covered by solid customer support. Usually, it's more expensive than the generic stuff, not the other way around. Crucial is actually the consumer level, retail branch of Micron. Who in turn, supply the memory modules to numerous 3rd party vendors who produce the generic stuff.

I agree with everything Brian said. Crucial/Micron memory is probably the best available, and it is backed by a 100% compatability gaurantee, and a lifetime warranty.

Can't answer your question about pricing but Crucial is excellent quality.
They deliver more or less the next day at no extra cost too.
I think the time is soon coming when they will be paying us to have their memory! How much lower can memory prices go?
Crucial/Micron started the "DDR Revolution", by constantly lowering the prices and bundling DDR SDRAM with mobos from different manufacturers. I wouldn't worry from that price, go for it, you won't find any better then this.
